Monrovia - Monrovia Questions

Pytanie #1:

are you aware that the FDA is outsourced?

so the next question of course...

TO WHOM?

Below is a letter I've sent to local tv stations and newspapers this week....

I’m writing today to inquire if anyone is willing to step up and publish news about Trader Joe and FDA and their Adverse Claims Departments.

I woke up with a terrible taste in my mouth last Monday. I made an appointment with Ear, Nose and Throat doctor because I was certain something bad was going on inside the body. By the end of that day, a co-worked suggested that I google to see if anything was on the web.

Turned out I had “pine syndrome” or “pine nut mystery” or “pine nut phenomenon” as it is known.

Apparently since 2008, folks across the globe have been getting sick from eating pine nuts. A bitter taste where nothing is acceptable but water for close to a week. On the fourth day I coughed up blood. On the fifth and sixth days I had abdomen pain. At times it even felt as though I could feel my organs touching.

I began with the TJ where I purchased the nuts. They referred me to their Headquarters in Monrovia. Headquarters told me that they had been aware since 2008 and had removed some nuts but not all. They told me that the only Claims Manager would contact me in 48 hours. When I heard nothing from TJ by Friday, exactly one week from the purchase of the pine nuts, I walked back into the local store and explained my plight. The manager there filed an Adverse Claim Report and told me that I should hear from someone.

I have not. The incident did come and go in 8 days as the web predicts. The fact that no one contacted me is ludicrous.

I contacted the FDA and filed the Adverse Claim Report with Call Taker 1. Call Taker 1 informed me that our governement outsourced that way therefore no names can be given.

Now here is another story all together. Why is the FDA outsourced? To Whom?

Call Taker 1 told me that I would have to send him a written letter with my information and willingness to pay for the “pine nut” records. I mailed the letter to them on Friday stating that I believe my tax dollars are working hard as it is and that I would appreciate the report as soon as possible.

Wrong is wrong and is never right. Who will stand for justice and print this news?
sorry mikegolf...had to put the facts in there of how i know ya know

Pytanie #12:

Moving to Monrovia, CA?

My husband and I currently live in Albuquerque, NM, but his company, 3M Unitek, is talking about relocating him to Monrovia, CA. We would be renting a house for hopefully less than $2000 a month. Are there houses for rent in the mountain area next to the city? What is that area called? Where should we rent, if we want to stay within like 30 miles of the city? We will have my six year old with us? What are good schools? Any info would help... Kind of overwhelmed by searching the Internet.

Pytanie #13:

Pytanie #18:

lost for words what should i think? 3 years in the crapper?

my girlfriends car broke down and she has been staying with her mom. She lives at her dads. We haven't seen a lot of each other lately because of this and on the day i saw her she acted strange. she went though my phone found her friends number asking why she had sent me a text saying your a good friend. It was 2 months old and she knew i helped her friend drive her daughter home from school when she was sick one day. Then she said she can do better then me and wasn't worried. I found this weird and thought something might be up so i didn't call her all weekend to see if she would call. She didn't and she calls everyone all the time. Then Monday she calls me and says she called fri and sat at which point i went though my phone and never got a missed call or text so i know she is lying plus i had been waiting for her to call. when i told her this she got mad at me and claimed she had called. We fought over this for two days then yesterday i gassed up my car and made a surprised visit at her moms house. I called her before i came in she acted mad and said she was sick and needed to see the doctor so i told her mom i would drive her. Her mom left and i went on her comp just to waste time before i took her. in her history i saw she had been looking for a hotel in the area. When i asked her about it she said she had got in a fight with her mother and brother so i asked to see her phone she said no but i did look at it. It had nothing on it she had erased her phone history after i called to come in and she told me this. We talked and i found out she had met a guy that was interested in her but she hadn't done anything with him but he did call and text her that's why she had erased her history. I told her i didn't know it we would be dating after this but i would still take her to the doctor because i told her mom i would and she said fine and acted like she didn't care. Then she went to the bathroom at which point i noticed some green gym shorts in her parents room i turned them over and found they where from a city 5 city's away it said monrovia high on them and that's where we hang out and her parents are from a different country so they didn't go to school there. The gym shorts had pants and a shirt under them. Which means they are being used as under wear. I confronted her about it and she acted shocked and said she didn't know where they came from i called her a lier and left. Her mom calls me and cusses me out and says its her husbands lol. Now after all this she is still calling me saying she is going to explain and that she isn't cheating. Should i let her?
we are not in high school and are almost 30

Woman charged with abducting daughter in 1995
Wendy Hill is arrested in Monrovia in case arising from custody dispute. Because his daughter now is an adult, the father must wait for her to contact him.
March 06, 2010|By Amina Khan

A woman who vanished 14 years ago with her 7-year-old daughter was arrested Tuesday in Monrovia and her daughter was located unharmed, authorities said Friday.

Wendy Hill, 52, was spotted at a local Claim Jumper restaurant and arrested on suspicion of abducting her own daughter.

Jessica Click-Hill, now 22, was contacted by authorities after the arrest. She is believed to be living out of state and no longer goes by her given name, police said.

"I'm just so excited that Jessica is found and well and that, physically, she's fine," said the girl's father, Dean Click. "She's got family who haven't gotten to be with her, to spend Christmas or Thanksgiving together, so we're looking forward to reconnecting with each other."

Click said that because his daughter is an adult, authorities will not release her contact information. "At this point, she will have to come to me," he said.

The father said he and his ex-wife were in a custody dispute when Hill cleaned out her Redlands apartment in the fall of 1995 and left with the girl.

Click said he lived in Walnut Creek in Northern California at the time and for years had not been able to visit his daughter without a mediator present. He said that at the time he had been accused of molesting his daughter, a charge he denied.

He said he ultimately was exonerated and that his rights were restored for full, unsupervised visits. On his first visit, he said, he celebrated by bringing his parents and taking Jessica out to lunch.

On his second visit, he said, he arrived at the apartment complex and found that his ex-wife and daughter had left.

Authorities said Hill changed her name to Gail Jackson and moved from state to state. She was sighted outside Tampa, Fla., and at one point lived in Boston, authorities said.

A warrant was issued for her arrest in 1996 in Contra Costa County and the FBI issued its own warrant a year later.

Click said he kept in touch with authorities, but there were few leads. Then a tip came in several months ago from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about the mother's alias and her location, said Sgt. Tom Cashion of the Walnut Creek Police Department .

Hill flew to Los Angeles, apparently for a business meeting, and was picked up Tuesday at the Monrovia restaurant, Cashion said.

She was taken to Northern California and booked, but has since been released on bond.

Click said prosecutors asked if he wanted to press charges.

"I said 'yes' because she's been a thief and she's taken away those years that I did not get to spend with my daughter," Click said.

Pytanie #25:

Is the decline of American morals correlated with higher numbers of people from non-Western cultures?

If a people create a culture, wouldn't it be logical to think that an America where Mexicans are the majority will be just as corrupt, incompetent, bureaucratic, violent and ignorant as Mexico is?

And that is just an example. Isn't Detroit similar to Monrovia? Isn't New Orleans just the same as Johannesburg is now?

Pytanie #28:

What was the name of the burger stand in the old downtown area of La Puente, CA near the Star Theater?

This place used to serve everything you could imagine from huge hamburgers to a Pastrami Dip sandwich which I swear must have weighed a pound and if you ordered fries to go with it? OMG, you could eat for 2 days. They had burritos as big as your head, taquitos and gyros when I said everything I meant it. I believe the owners were Greek or Armenian and there was another one in downtown Monrovia, right on the main street as you entered downtown.

Pytanie #29:

Is monrovia ca. a nice place to live?

My husband and I are currently living in Canyon Country, Ca. and want to move closer to his job in Downey, Ca. We have looked at Sierra Madre and Arcadia and like both cities but they are a little expensive. Monrovia is not much further down the 210 and the prices are a little bit better for a home. We do not like Canyon Country at all due to the number of section 8 apartment complexes here and want to avoid a similar situation when we move.

Pytanie #35:

Summarize in four sentences?

PEACE TENT RISES IN NAIROBI, KENYA

Jan. 22 (GIN) — Kenya's Nobel Peace laureate, Wangari Maathai, and her Greenbelt Movement have set up a peace tent in Kenya's embattled city of Nairobi.

The group will listen to victims of the country's post-election violence and collect signatures from Kenyans who wish to see face-to-face dialogue between the country's president, Mwai Kibaki, and the leader of the opposition, Raila Odinga.

Maathai blamed the government for doing little to prevent the ethnic-driven killings in the country. U.S. Ambassador Michael Ranneberger, meanwhile, strongly protested what appeared to be government flyers blaming the U.S. for the troubles.

Maathai then planted a tree, symbolic for renewal and hope in a country battered by prolonged violence. A visit by the former UN Chief Kofi Annan this week is expected to cool tempers and hopefully resolve differences.

MILLIONS TUNE IN TO 2008 AFRICA SOCCER CUP
Jan. 22 (GIN) — The 2008 African Cup of Nations opened with a decisive victory for the Ivory Coast "Elephants," who defeated Nigeria's SuperEagles, whose team also played well until an injury forced out their captain in the 55th minute.

The games at Ohene Djan stadium in Accra, Ghana, have attracted hundreds of reporters, photographers and television presenters from all corners of the globe, but the accreditation process at the Kofi Annan Center has been, as one local newspaper put it, "hellish."

It is estimated that at least $1 billion would be injected into the Ghanaian economy from the wildly popular games, derived from over a million tourists to this West African nation.

Staging Africa's most prestigious sporting event will also cast a positive international spotlight on Ghana.

"Almost everybody, every community is benefiting," Ghana's finance minister, Kwadwo Baah-Wiredu said in an interview last week.

The games run from now through February 10.

SHOCKING TESTIMONIES AT LIBERIA'S TRC HEARINGS
Jan. 22 (GIN) — "Ghastly, horrible testimonies" was how one newspaper described the public hearings of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission now underway in Monrovia, Liberia.

Confessions of killing, torturing and burning have been emerging in great detail from victims and perpetrators of the country's 14-year civil war, along with indictments of former government officials said to have masterminded some of the horrific events.

On the eighth day of TRC hearings, witnesses described the socalled Duport Road Massacre of 1992, a heinous bloodletting drama during which nearly 30 Liberians were butchered in cold blood.

James Makor of Liberia's nongovernmental organization Save My Future says the public statements still contain surprises.

"One musician around here, I had never knew that he was a general, but during the public hearing, we got to know that he was a general," said Makor. "So in that case now, most of his songs he had always won public sympathy that he was victimized, instead people now know that he was one of the guys that had a lot of power to himself."

Makor was referring to Michael David, known as Sundaygar Dearboy. Witnesses have accused David of rapes and beatings. One of Liberia's most popular stars, he sang the campaign song for Liberia's president, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, when she ran for office in 2005.

Makor says it is good for Liberians to know the truth about what happened.

"It is necessary that we get to know some of the people, what they did. For us to have the past information, so we can know how to interact with them," added Makor.

Out of 88 cases, the commission, has heard only 16. According to the timetable set by the TRC, it has about roughly 11 more days to hears the balance of 72 cases before going to other counties.

Friend doesn't want to jog & relationship?

He says his lungs hurt, whenever we ask he'll come along but he wont be able to keep up in a way. He can barely run a few feets but he complains about his lungs. Its hard to believe because it doesn't really show, his outward appearance seems fine. He also likes to stay inside to play World of warcraft. There is always excuses when I offer him a job or anything. Or anything related to education like going to college. I mean I play world of warcraft too on my free time. PVP geared as well its just that I can't really be on it as much as he does, because I work and have school. I'm also a bit worried about our friendship. My friend and I try to help but just not working, he says he will do something about getting a job and that hes mostly certain about doing it but he just doesn't. He'll use the economy as excuse were he can't get a job. But I just offered him a few job slots in Macys and told him about the new sonic that'll be out in California over in Monrovia. (if anyone is concern about trying out sonic)

Was wondering if anyone can give me any good advice to be really persuasive? Or anything at all that'll help. And also the part on getting him to run or shoot any advise that'll help his lungs or what can be the possibilities about his lungs? Thanks!
He lost subscription once before for not having the money to pay, soon his internet also went out for not having the money. Even though he stop playing he also planned and talked about what he was going to do in the game once he gets back on it. He never really quit WoW or the idea of it. So that solution wouldn't work. (no WoW or internet close to a year) Now he has access.
YAY for the horde! haha Hmm I dont want to do anything illegal though.

I am getting texts from greendot@acctalerts.com. How do i get rid of it?

These are the people sending you and me these damn alerts. I don't even own a Visa. I had to call them and tell them my card was lost or stolen and then ask them to transfer me to customer service with a live representative. When you dial the number for the "Lost and Stolen Dept" do not enter anything and the automated system will eventually send you to a live rep from that dept. When I got the live representative on the phone from the "lost and stolen dept" I told them I had the wrong dept, please transfer me to cust service - otherwise you will not get through. Do not give them any info except the phone number they are sending the texts to.

So im turning 16 in 3 months. I want to have kinda a big party, but I need a hall or banquet room to have it. My house is too small... I live in Monrovia. And I want to have a DJ, and maybe have catered food from somewhere else. & it has to be somewhere not too expensive. my dad is on a budget. Any ideas or places where?
